Me and DC Comics a New and Kindling Relationship

After a lot of disappointing movies from Marvel and nothing really new and exciting from them besides, Iron Man and Thor, who I was never a big fan of. I have found my Super Hero taste to be changing. I have always been somewhat of a Superman fan, I knew a lot about him and his story. Was a fan of Wonder Woman, (who by the way should still be played by Linda Carter, she still is smoking hot and gorgeous), and I know some of her story as well. I had read some of there comics but mostly buy watching movies and TV shows did I know these things.
I was browsing the comic book section of the book store and something caught my eye. Green Lantern Blackest Night, and I thought hmmmm that sounds interesting? Having heard the famous Green Lantern oath, "In Brightest Day in Blackest Night, no evil shall escape my sight, let those who worship evils might, beware my power Green Lanterns Light!" I realized that the title of Blackest night may explain some of where that oath came from.  In picking it up I began reading and was instantly entranced by the Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, John Stewart and Guy Gardner, and there fight against a Zombie Army of Black Lanterns!
Before getting into this series here is what I knew about the Green Lantern: I knew he wore a ring and with that ring he made "Constructs" using his will power to fight. I knew the ring was not unlimited when it came to its power supply and must be charged using a battery that looks like a lantern! And I knew he was one of many in an alien Corp, the Green Lantern Corp. I also knew his arch nemesis Sinestro, who wielded a yellow power ring and the green was ineffective against yellow.
I have in turn since picking up that first Blackest Night comic learned so much more of Green Lanterns universe and become a fan (long before the Ryan Reynolds movie came out, which was amazing!).
And in having lost touch with my favorite Marvel Heroes the X-Men, (and if I hadn't already X-Men: First Class, the movie would have lost me completely anyway!), I found my self switching teams! From Marvel to DC. I have come to learn more about Superman and Wonder Woman, and from those involved in the Justice League some of the other super heroes as well.
What this is leading to is DC is doing a massive revamping of there characters, they do this to let their newer fans become familiar with there heroes in a setting and design that they can relate to.
In 2011 we see the beginning of this character revamp with the New 52, a brand new # 1 issue release for some of DC's most prominent super heroes.
I will be reading the following of the new #1 released issues and covering them in this blog:
Justice League
Green Lantern
Red Lanterns
Green Lantern Corp
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Superman
Supergirl
Superboy
Wonder Woman
And other possible titles as I have never really been a big fan:
Batman & Robin
Nightwing
Catwoman
Teen Titans
These comics follow some of the more prominent Super Heroes in the DC Universe. And the new number ones are to be released over the next few months.

So follow me on my review of the New 52!
